Last Chance for the Chase Sapphire Reserve 100,000 Point Bonus

Saturday, March 11 is the Last Day to Get the 100k Signup Bonus

The Chase Sapphire Reserve ranks #1 on my list of Best Credit Card Signup Offers. Indeed, with its lucrative 100,000 point signup bonus, it is arguably the best credit card ever offered.

As I detailed in this post, the card will net most folks at least $1,650 of value toward travel.

To get the 100k points, you need to spend $4,000 on the card in the first 3 months of card membership. Getting $1,650 of value by spending $4,000 is like getting 41% back on that $4,000 of spend.

For a comprehensive review of the card, check out this post by the FrequentMiler.

How to Get the Chase Sapphire Reserve 100k Bonus

The final day to get the 100k signup bonus on the card is Saturday, March 11. You must apply in a physical Chase branch to get the 100k bonus. You can find the Chase branch closest to you by entering your zip code here.

If you sign up online instead of in branch, you can only get a 50k bonus. Starting March 12, the in-branch bonus will drop to 50k as well.

If you’ve opened 5 or more cards in the last 24 months, you won’t be approved for the card. But for those who can get it, it’s a great offer.

    • Sarah,

I’m pretty sure you have to go into the branch, but it can’t hurt to try calling.

That said, I’m getting reports that the Chase system is not showing the 100k offer anymore in branch. As the offer was supposed to be good through today, in-branch bankers are telling people it is a mistake and that they should apply for the 50k and then request to be matched to the 100k. I actually think that stands a good chance of success as Chase is typically very good about this sort of thing. In fact, Chase will often match you to a higher bonus when one comes along shortly *after* you’ve applied for a lower bonus. That said, there are no guarantees. I’ve reached out to Chase for confirmation but may not hear back in time.

Interestingly, this turn of events may open an opportunity for you. You could call a branch and ask if their system is still showing the 100k offer because you’ve heard there’s been a mistake and that that offer is no longer showing. If they say the 100k offer isn’t showing, you can ask them what you should do. I’d think they’d tell you to go ahead and apply (even online) for the 50k offer and then to request to be matched to the 100k offer after the fact (because that is what they are telling others). I certainly can’t guarantee that this will work. But if you will end up applying for the 50k offer at some point anyway, this approach would at least give you a shot at the 100k.
